Newcomer Women in Canada

In this webinar, the Youth Newcomer Jobs Portal (YNJP), together with Malton Women Council (MWC), shared how newcomer women in Malton and Peel cultivated a network and supported one another to achieve success and strengthen their community.

The discussion featured the following guest speakers sharing their lived experiences:

• Uzma Aziz Irfan, Executive Director, Malton Women Council

YNJP and MWC covered the resources and support available to newcomers and women in Peel Region, followed by a panel discussion about ‘Empowered Women, Empowered Communities.’

Founded in 2009, MWC is a registered non-profit organization based in Mississauga, Ontario. MWC’s mandate is to mentor, motivate, and mobilize women in the community, with the vision of ‘Empowered Women, Empowered Communities.
